The club runs 3
teams in the Sussex Youth League in the age groups: U14, U16, U18. The
U18s (previously U17s team) are the only established team within the
Club with several years playing experience and proud history to go with
it! Our two other teams are just getting under way and both look very
promising as the weeks go by.
With your help these
teams would have a better chance to achieve their goals and be a competitive
team next season. If this sounds like fun and you want to be part of
a very proud group of basketball players then come along!!
This Club was set
up in March 2000 by Rob Birchmore, who ran the senior East Grinstead
Basketball Club in Lingfield. He decided to take a few junior players
from there and start up a club totally dedicated to youth development
and bring basketball back to the town.
Rob is an EBBA (English
Basketball Association) qualified head coach with over 20 years playing
experience and has spent 7 years coaching youth and senior players.
Rob and his dedicated committee of volunteers have only the best to
offer you.
Our aim is to promote
basketball for all and to encourage fair play and team play both on
and off the court. We teach all the basic fundamentals and rules of
the game and develop the offensive and defensive skills required in
the Sussex Youth League. Our players pride themselves on being part
of an Organisation that puts them first and involves them in our progression.
We strive for excellence both as a Club and as individuals for he benefit
of the club and community.

Association (EBBA)
The Sussex Basketball Association/Sussex Youth League
We, like the above
Associations, have a set Constitution and Club rules and regulations,
which we expect all members to abide by as we have to abide by the governing
bodies Constitution, rules and regulations. Our Constitution, rules
and regulations are open to parents and potential members for viewing
on request.
